Adult Program

As a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accredited program, The Frazer Center Adult Program provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities, ages 18 and over, and their families. Education, work training, and recreation opportunities are offered based on individual interests, needs and abilities. An Individual Service Plan is created for each participant to track improvement and maximize his or her potential.

New SCORE! Model

We have implemented a new program concept and schedule in the Adult Program at The Frazer Center! We are very excited about future opportunities. Our new SCORE! Model embraces the following components:

  • 1. Skills
  • 2. Community
  • 3. Opportunities/Choices
  • 4. Real World
  • 5. Equity/Inclusive

The adults at The Frazer Center work on skills daily, visit the community as much as possible, select opportunities of their choosing, and participate in real world experiences in an equal, inclusive setting.  SCORE!

Micro-Enterprise Ideas

In the near future, we will operate several micro-enterprises. In addition to our café, Frazer Grounds, we plan to set-up and operate the following micro-enterprises soon:

  • A jewelry making business
  • A pottery business
  • Selling honey and wax products from The Frazer Center bee hive
  • A soap-making business

Staff members Theresa Williams and Dorothy Harris will help get Frazer Grounds running. Elicia Westbook-Thomas will lead the jewelry business, and Vernon Howard and Paula Huff will be the co-leaders in the pottery business. Amy Price will be leading the way with The Frazer Center Bee adventures. We know our adults will be very excited about helping with these new adventures. Watch for more news about the bee products, jewelry, soap, and pottery businesses soon.

(Special thanks go to Michelle and Michael Jarrard for helping us set up our jewelry and soap-making micro-enterprises, and special thanks also go to Marcy Cornell for helping us with our bee/honey/wax happenings.)

Frazer Grounds

We are very excited about our future café, Frazer Grounds. The Adult Program will operate the café from set-up to clean-up. Frazer Grounds will be open from 7:30 - 10:15 each morning. We plan to sell a variety of food and drinks to staff members, Frazer Center adults, parents, bus drivers, and members of the community, so please stop by if you have the time.

We plan to have the Frazer Grounds grand opening in mid-September - look for more specific information soon. Hope to see you at the café soon!
